student loan repayment for always been part of the American dream! This is how we get where we want to be. Around $ 7,000 is the cost of average quality for a massage therapy program that will give you decent quality education and prepare for the approval of the State. Your bad credit should not prevent you from making a loan.Actually Education, 25, you should be eligible for a variety of federal and state grants (free money you do not have to pay back!) For put you at school (especially if your income was at the lower end of the scale) provided the school you wish to attend the State is accredited. Otherwise, I would try to find a school that is state accredited. I was 23 when I decided to get off my butt and get an education so I would not have to live at home forever. I worked my tail for three months, held down two full-time jobs. Then packed my car and headed across the country for the massage school. I live in Illinois and went to school in Salt Lake City. Enjoy! If you need more info please let me contacter.Post-script Why do you care what your parents? If you think this is the career change for you, then do it! If I listened a lot to my father that I could have graduated in four years and a 9-5 job! lol He also told me to stay at home longer to save more money before going to school. I knew if I did then I would get distracted and never let go to school and still be in the same rut. I was a practicing therapist for 9 years now and I am very financially stable money full-time work part time. What is this work is that it is very flexible. You can work for yourself whether it is out of your home or you rent a space or you may also be an employee somewhere. Your options are limitless in that opportunity …. many aspects to specialize in. .. children, sports, prenatal care, spa …. it’s endless what you can do with a background in massage therapy. I personally work with chiropractors. I have 8 years now, but I also recently trained in the techniques of abdominal massage Arvigo Maya and I am looking to start working out of my home and concentrate on the job. The hours are flexible and wages are very aussi.Désolé all walks … I’m just very passionate about my career. It’s more than just a career for me is also my hobby. I totally geek out on the massage and bodywork, I’m an addict of such information! lolUn therapist is a legitimate massage therapist is a masseuse. The labor market is flexible and easy. And you can learn the technique and the ability to base everything in school and not working very well once in the real world. Massage therapy helps many people where physical therapy can not.

You learn a LOT of massage in physical therapy, and it is an option that you should consider. They already paid for one program you wanted and now don’t want, so I sort of understand your parent’s perspective. You would be able to get much better jobs as a physical therapist (even an assistant) than as a masseuse, because right now you don’t even know if you are skilled enough to get work in the field (you can learn technique but you also need some basic ability to be really good).

If you have bad credit and poor money handling skills being a massage therapist won’t help you much. It is a hard career to make money and start your own business when you are in debt over your head. You don’t sound very motivated which is what it takes.

Work and clean up your finances.

From a business point of view I think becoming a massage therapist is a mistake because there are already too many out there struggling to make a living.
However becoming a physical therapist is a very bad way to become a massage therapist if that is what you want to do and you are taking the place of someone else who actually wants to be a physical therapist.
I wouldn’t cosign for the loan either especially as you can save the money if you get a job.

My advice wold be to get a job and save the money required to do the course. it should be possible to save $ 7000 in a year with a lot of hard work and commitment. If you can do that you have what it takes to make a living and suceed. taking a course on a whim, hoping someone else will pay for it is not a good idea. Stand on your own 2 feet and support yourself.

To mother. Stop intefering and trying to live your ambition through your daughter. If Physical therapy is such a good thing, you do it!
